U.S. Soccer appointed Everett Palache as the new head coach of the U.S. Men’s Deaf National Team in May of 2024. Bringing 20 years of high-level coaching and technical experience to the role, Palache recently led the U.S. Men's Deaf National Team at the 2024 Deaf Pan American Games in Canoas, Brazil.
The U.S. Men’s Deaf National Team is one of nine teams under U.S. Soccer’s Extended National Teams program and includes eligible qualifying players who must have a hearing loss of at least 55DB in their “better ear.” Having joined U.S. Soccer in 2022, the Deaf MNT has played internationally since 1965, competing in the DIFA World Deaf Football Championships, the Summer Deaflympics and Deaf Pan American Games.
The ADAPT𝘢𝘯𝘥THRIVE Invitational, presented by Haleon, brings together individuals from diverse soccer backgrounds and abilities to participate in a soccer event that celebrates inclusivity and promotes interaction and collaboration. This initiative creates an opportunity for players to showcase their skills, build friendships, and break down barriers, fostering a sense of unity and shared experiences. Three other Extended National Teams (Women’s Deaf, Power, Women’s CP) and five member organizations will also be in attendance.
As part of U.S. Soccer’s continued efforts to celebrate the game in all its forms and promote inclusivity and accessibility for all, the Federation today announced the eight winners of the Extended National Teams’ 2024 Player of the Year awards. Click Here To Learn More
