USL Academy Girls & W League Update
U20 USL Academy Girls
The Academy girls have been training each Sunday evening throughout the course of January through March. Their training/game schedule will really kick off later this spring as our ECNL season begins to wind down.
USL W League
We held tryouts over the holidays and it was encouraging to see many new faces at the sessions. It's also exciting to see many of our former USL Academy players make the jump from the Academy to the W League. We use our USL programming as a direct pathway from our youth ranks to the USL W platform. It is our belief that we can truly manage a pathway from our youngest players through the pre professional ranks for each of our members. We had our scheduling meeting last week and there will be a big USL schedule announcement coming soon! We look forward to seeing all of the players come back in May!

This past couple of months is a period of preparation for our Senior u13-19 teams. Our teams play some showcases and tournaments but league play doesn’t start until early March. This period we can do a lot of work on the training field. Most of our sessions are indoor and help us focus on the technical aspect. The indoor sessions are usually quicker and our players decision making needs to be sharper. Training indoor 4v4 is more touches on the ball and allows players to be creative.
The showcases at this time of year are crucial for college recruitment. The showcases also give our teams the opportunity to play against teams out of our conference. This gives us excellent game resistance usually against teams that play a very different style of play.
Several of our CFSC Directors (joined by Columbus Force SC and Canton Akron United Force SC directors) traveled to Las Vegas earlier this month for the ECNL Coaching Symposium!
In addition to professional speakers such as Anson Dorrance (22x National Champion with North Carolina) and Matt Crocker (US Soccer Sporting Director) presentations were given on the direction of youth soccer in America, expanding opportunity via the ECNL platform, continuing improvements on game models and methodology studies, among others. Professional directors from across the country were in attendance looking for ways to advance the game and continuously improve the environments for our players and families.
We look forward to continuing to work these things into our club and building strong men and women for the future!

Girls ECNL Director
ECNL 15-19 Girls:
Our 2008 and 2009 ECNL girls headed to Lakewood Ranch, FL at the beginning of January for the ECNL Winter Showcase. Fantastic competition and a ton of college exposure for each of our players.
Abigail Dalessandro (08 ECNL) was selected to play in the ECNL National Selection Game showcasing some of the best talent across the country on one field at the same time. She played really well and was cheered on by her CFSC 08 ECNL girl's teammates who were all in attendance at the game under the lights.
After the Florida Showcase, all 4 ECNL Girls teams prepared for the Penn Fusion Showcase in Philly during President's Day weekend as a tuneup to Ohio Valley Conference League play starting up the first weekend in March. Our season is about to get really busy from here through the end of June.

We are officially at the time of year where the spring season is near. As we wrap up our winter periodization, we are looking forward to preparing to see success this spring season.
This winter, we have put a large emphasis on individual and small group technical, physical, and psychosocial development. Heading into the spring season, we are looking forward to see the benefits of our winter training put into practice in league and event play.
For our u11-12 HP program, we have the following events our pools will be playing in -- Ohio Elite Showcase, Jefferson Cup, KHA Elite Spring Thaw, Great Lakes Spring Challenge, Chicago Inter Memorial Day Classic, State Cup, and ECNL South Carolina. Our teams are also looking for strong showings in the Pre-ECNL, GLA, and CASA leagues
For our u13-14 ECNL program, we have the following events our pools will be playing in -- VDA Winter Showcase, Jefferson Cup, and ECNL South Carolina. The teams are preparing to compete in the ECNL OVC spring season, and make another push to qualify for the ECNL National Playoffs.
Congratulations to the 2013G Pre-ECNL White team for becoming Champions at the Cleveland Indoor Classic after beating Internationals SC in the Final!

Big Sister / Little Sister
Over the holiday break, our high school teams had the chance to do an open training session. All four age groups got to work together to help each other get ready for future events. It was great to see the camaraderie, work ethic, and desire to put in extra work by this group. After the training, the girls got to participate in the G.O. sponsored Big Sister/Little Sister event. This was the second year in a row that the girls got to take part, and they did a great job mentoring at the event.
ECNL RL Florida
Both the 06/07 and 08 ECNL-RL Girls teams traveled to Florida after the New Year. The girls have been working hard in training with Coach Abby Richter, and it was great to see them back on the field after the holiday break. The 06/07 team had great results and played while at the event, finishing tied for 10th based on points per game over the event. The team had 2 great shutout wins over the last two days of the event, and a hard-fought tie against FC Delco on Day 1. The 2008 team battled every game over the three days and showed promise in some great moments. This event was the largest to date for the 2008 group in terms of college coaches in attendance. We look forward to both teams continuing their hard work!
Winter Leagues
The 2009 and 2010 ECNL-RL Girls teams have started winter leagues at Spire. Both teams are currently playing up an age group to take on the physical and tactical challenges. Both groups have performed well with play and results and are currently preparing for upcoming events at Penn Fusion and Ohio Elite. Most recently the team traveled to play the Canton Akron United Force in scrimmages with the 2010s winning 3-0 and the 2009s winning 1-0. The teams continue to grow and develop and get ready to meet with Coach Eric and prepare for the next few months.
Ohio Valley League Cup
The 2011 and 2012 ECNL-RL teams have qualified for the league cup based on their play in the fall. Both teams won their groups and with a combined 5 wins and 1 tie between the six games. Games were postponed due to weather in the middle of January, and both teams wait for news about when the event will be rescheduled. Next up for both teams will be the Ohio Elite Girls Showcase coming up in late February.

Director
Boys U15-U19 ECNL-RL / GLA
Our HS Boys GLA and ECNL-RL teams continue to prepare for the competitive season ahead while prioritizing the training environment in addition to friendly competition and a series of showcases and events.
Our
HS Boys ECNL-RL teams traveled to the Indianapolis College Showcase at Grand Park, Indiana in December. In addition to college coach exposure for our older teams, our
2010B and 2009B
ECNL-RL teams won their respective divisions, ending the weekend undefeated and a combined 20 goals scored and only 2 against. Both teams have just returned from the Del Sol Presidents’ Day tournament in Phoenix, Arizona and are back to preparing for league play when they will host in-state rivals Club Ohio and Sporting Columbus.
Our
HS Boys GLA teams spent the start of winter preparing to attend the Ft. Wayne United FC Showcase just a week before the resumption of league play. In addition to this, our 2010B and 2009B GLA Teams started their league play with wins vs. Steel City FC. We look forward to continued success in league play!
CAPTAIN SELECTION
Next, our coaches recently completed the captain selection process. As outlined in our "Guiding Principles of a CFSC Captain,” the leadership styles CFSC looks for team captains to embody are transformational and servant. The objective is to create an environment of accountability, service, and care. CFSC captains are ambassadors of the club representing the club itself, teammates, family and friends in all environments on and off the field. We are happy to announce Our 2024-2025 team captains:
COACH SPOTLIGHT: Connor Jamison
Coach Connor Jamison, in his first season with CFSC, has done an exceptional job embracing our Club's mission and core values and delivering a positive experience for our players. Coach Jamison has implemented classroom sessions with his teams, focusing on tactical, mental, and physiological aspects of the game. They are currently reading and analyzing "Soccer Tough: Simple Football Psychology Techniques to Improve Your Game" by Dan Abrahams. Coach Jamison's off-field initiatives have significantly impacted player development, and we look forward to continued growth. All five of the GLA girls’ teams are busy training indoors. The teams have been focusing on individual technical work, speed of play and defending themes. The
07/08
girls played two very competitive games at SPIRE and will play another two games at the beginning of February. The
09 girls played their first games at SPIRE. Both games were evenly matched and played well in the last game with a shutout. The
2010 group is playing well in their indoor session at CAPS. They are creating a lot of scoring opportunities and are building great chemistry on the field. The
2011’s played their second set of games at SPIRE, winning the first game and losing the second. The group will continue to work on team defending and movement without the ball. The
2012’s also played their second set of games at SPIRE, going 0-1-1 against two very tough teams. They defended well and limited scoring opportunities in both games.
The 07/08, 09 and 2010 teams will be participating in the Ohio Elite Showcase at the end of February. It will be a great opportunity to play games outside before league play resumes. The 2011 and 2012 teams will resume league games at the end of February will GLA crossover games in Canton.

To our Force families it fills my heart with immense pride to see how our U8-U10 Force soccer community has come together to support a family in need. This is what true team spirit looks like, and it’s a testament to the strength of our culture—not just on the field, but off it as well.
When one of us faces hardship, we all feel it. That’s what makes our program more than just a group of players—we are a family. And seeing the way everyone has stepped up to help, whether by offering emotional support, donating time, or providing resources, shows the depth of care and compassion that runs through our Force family.
It’s not always easy to lend a hand, especially when life throws curveballs, but it’s during these times that we see the true heart of our culture. The way we have rallied around this family in their time of need shows the power of community and what it means to genuinely have each other’s backs. Whether we are celebrating victories or weathering storms together, the way we show up for one another makes us stronger—both as individuals, as a team and program.
To everyone who has helped, thank you for making this Force Soccer family more than just a name. Your actions are a reminder of the kind of community we’ve built—a community rooted in empathy, kindness, and mutual respect.
This is a positive reflection of the values we aim to embody, both on and off the field. It’s moments like these that remind us of what truly matters: supporting each other, lifting one another up, and being there when it counts.
Let’s continue to show that same strength, care, and unity in everything we do. Together, we are not just Force Soccer—we are a family that stands strong in the face of any challenge.
On the field recognitions:
The 2016G team made a statement at the Cleveland All-Star Tournament, showing incredible grit and determination! After a tough loss to the Force 2017 boys earlier in the tournament, they came back strong, turning the tables and defeating them in a thrilling finals showdown to claim the championship. A true testament to their resilience and championship spirit! A huge congratulations to the 2016G girls—champions of the boys' division!
Shoutout to the 13G Pre-ECNL White team battled hard at the Cleveland Indoor Classic and finishing as Finalists in the 2015 Girls Blizzard Division! Way to go girls!
With pride and gratitude,
Lauren Wilson

With the Holidays behind us our Boys are in Full swing!
Looking Back:
Our Teams are all showing very well in their respective Indoor Leagues! We are continuing to dominate the local leagues from a result standpoint and are playing a nice brand of Soccer whilst doing that!
Over the past few weeks we have had our Teams compete in a number of events outside of regular.
Our 2013 Boys were runners up in the USL Youth National Finals losing 4-3 to Florida Premier FC.
We have had many teams compete in the recent two Indoor Championships with our 2013 Volt East bringing home their first Title of the Season!
We took 3 Teams to the prestigious Las Vegas Cup and struggled a little against some Top level competition which shows there is still work to be done and gives a good lens of what the benchmark is across the USA. Our 2013 Pre-ECNL White Team enjoyed 5 great games before losing a close one in the semi-finals!
Looking Forward:
We have a number of Indoor Games still to go to wrap up our Season.
All teams have Tournaments on the horizon as we prepare for our Spring Outdoor Play to resume! All our teams travel South to either Cincinnati or Columbus for away events and a chance to play different opponents which is always fun!
Juggle Testing ran from Feb 1 through Feb 15th. We love to see the progress from all players as they strive to beat their scores from our Fall round of Testing.
Fantasy Premier League:
Owen continues to be the highest placed Kid in the Club Wide Fantasy Soccer League. Lots of time to claw back some points and make up ground so keep the kids engaged in doing their teams!

We are thrilled to share how successful our new G.O. (Girls Only) program has been! With the Winter 1 session completed, Winter 2 currently in full swing, and Winter 3 already completely full, the excitement and support for this program have been incredible. To date, over 200 families have participated, and it’s been an absolute joy to see so many girls out on the field, having fun and building confidence in a safe, no-pressure environment.
We want to thank everyone who has helped make this program such a success! Your enthusiasm has been inspiring, and we’re excited to keep growing this opportunity for girls to enjoy the game we all love.
While Winter 3 registration is full, we strongly encourage families to sign up for the waitlist. We frequently open up additional spots and will contact families on the waitlist before the next session begins.
Over the break we had a great time within the club at the Holiday Big Sister Little Sister Event full of fun festive soccer games and a party pizza afterwards. It was a great turn out and we always love seeing the girls of all ages being able to come together within the club and support each other.
Stay tuned for upcoming G.O. opportunities to have your daughter continue to grow in her soccer skills and enjoy the game throughout the spring and summer.
Finally, we’d like to remind everyone that the G.O. program is open to girls outside of the club as well. If you know someone who would love to join, please spread the word!
Thank you for your continued support, and we can’t wait to see more girls out there enjoying soccer with G.O.!
