USL Academy:
Training has started. The team is coming together really well and the training environment has been exceptional. We will be playing in the biggest USL Academy Event of the year from March 29-April 2. We will be playing in the top flight of this tournament.
Boys ECNL:
The 07s and 06s both had a fantastic showcase tournament in Florida. The 07s were 2 wins and 1 loss against some of the best teams in the country.
The 06s were 2 wins and a draw and did not concede a goal. In the three days they had over 60 college teams come to scout the team. The word around the grounds was that the Force 06 team was the team to watch. There is not enough room to list them all, but here is the strong short list.
Georgetown, Ohio State, Bucknell, Notre Dame, High Point, Colgate, CSU, Holy Cross, Villanova, Davidson, West Point, U Penn, UNC Asheville, Wright State, DePaul, Lehigh, Stanford, U of Chicago, Robert Morris, Dartmouth. Duquesne, Harvard, USF and more!
Girls ECNL
The ECNL U13-U19 girls are currently hard at work preparing for the start of their spring ECNL season which begins in a few short weeks. The U16 and U17 ECNL teams recently returned from the ECNL Florida event in Lakewood Ranch, FL in January. This event is always one of the highlights of our competitive schedule as the amount of college exposure and level of competition are unparalleled. All of our ECNL teams (U11-U19) are getting ready for the Ohio Elite Showcase at the end of February. Training themes have included bigger space ideas and relationships between lines. The OE Showcase will kick start our spring league schedule as our games against FC Alliance are makeup games from December.
USL Academy Cup
The USL Academy Cup team has started getting together to get ready for the USL Academy Cup in late March/early April. The team we are taking to Florida will be composed of players from each of our HS aged teams (05-08).
USL W League
The USL W League team has been quiet of late as most of the roster is competing with their colleges in their respective spring seasons. We will get everyone back in late April and have a few short weeks to prepare for the start of our season in mid May. We look forward to seeing all of you out to support us at home matches!!
As we continue to work our way through the Winter, we are encouraged by the progress of all of our teams and are excited about the Spring season that continues to inch closer.
Recently our ECNL-R 04/05, 06 and 07 girls returned from a successful showcase opportunity in Sanford, Florida. The event allowed all of our teams to play in front of a diverse group of college coaches, leading to many now advancing their recruitment process. Additionally, players Skylar Rooks and Paityn Marino were both fortunate to be selected to participate in the ECNL-R spotlight game, which not only allowed them to play in front of a packed crowd of supportive Force friends and family, but also to compete against the best players from the ECNL-R, along with a vast array of college coaches.
Meanwhile, a select group of 06 and 07 ECNL-R players recently attended the Charlotte Independence Showcase in Rock Hill, South Carolina. This was an excellent opportunity for these individuals to play teams they don't normally see in league play and to hopefully learn more about themselves as individuals as they grow through the college process and the club pathway.
Our younger ECNL-R teams, (08, 09 and 2010's) also have been training hard and have important events coming up. The 08s will soon be attending the Ohio Elite Showcase in February, while the 09s and 2010's are preparing to get their Spring back in motion with a trip to the IFA Turf Classic in Indianapolis.
Our 04/05 GLA Blue team headed to Gatlinburg Tennessee this past weekend in a fun weekend to compete against unique competition and in front of college coaches. Our players were able to come back feeling more prepared for the Spring as well as with a better idea of where they stand with potential collegiate opportunities.
Our 04/05 GLA Blue South team is working toward competing at the Ohio Elite Showcase in February and have been playing locally to prepare for that event. This team is led by Coach Tara Bowen who recently received her "B" License. Congratulations!
The 07/08 GLA Blue South team has also been playing locally and is gaining momentum as they continue to build familiarity. We are proud of their progress as this is a new team to our club, each week they show exponential progress. They too will be competing at the Ohio Elite Showcase in Cincinnati and we look forward to these players learning how the college process operates.
Best of luck to all of our players and teams as we inch closer to the Spring!
Skylar Rooks - 06G ECNL
Paityn Marino - 04/05G ECNL
Our HS Boys ECNL-RL and GLA teams continue to prepare for the competitive season ahead while prioritizing the training environment in addition to friendly competition and a series of showcases and events.
Our coaches selected team captains during the month of January. As outlined in our "Guiding Principles of a CFSC Captain," the leadership styles CFSC wants captains to embody are transformational and servant. The objective is to create an environment of accountability, service and care. CFSC captains are ambassadors of the club representing the club, teammates, family and friends in all environments on and off the field.
Our 2022-2023 team captains are as follows:
2004/05B ECNL-RL | 2006B ECNL-RL |

Congratulations to our team captains for this unique opportunity to help our coaches and teammates carry out our club culture and core values #CHIRP on a daily basis on and off the field!
Aleksandar Kolar - 2006B ECNL-RL Goalkeeper
Aleksandar was selected to participate in the Continental Tire ECNL-RL Selection Game at the ECNL-RL Florida Showcase in January. Aleksandar had an outstanding performance playing the entire first half of the game. This experience provided Aleksandar the opportunity to compete with and against some of the top talent in the nation at the ECNL-RL level which allowed for further exposure to college coaches in attendance. We are very proud of Aleksandar!
We want to celebrate all the hard work our 9v9 HP Coaching staff, and Program Manager has been doing this past season. We are blessed to have all our coaches in every department making a difference in the players' lives. When you have a moment, please thank the Coaches for the extra hours, their commitment to teaching, and their time away from family/friends. Moreover, thank them for being awesome developers of young people.
With the addition of Coach Lauren Wilson, Abbey Golden, and Abby Richter, we have great communicators of the game. Also, they have brought much insight into working with young female players to our meetings and strategies for future development.
Coach Ben is the Director of the U11-U12 Competitive Program but has been in every HP U11-U12 meeting. He has worked tirelessly to evaluate players, report progress, develop his staff, coach sessions, and so on. Without his contributions, we would not be able to execute as well as we do on delivering a "whole athlete experience."
Coach George Nanchoff has returned to coaching this season after up and downs with health last year. We are blessed to have his leadership, personality, and knowledge of the game in our department. Coach George has been instrumental in developing our Culture and player standards.
Coach Bryan has been a constant with Cleveland Force for ten years. He took a little break from Force to follow his dreams but has returned to help develop some of the best players in Northeast Ohio. We are glad we brought him back to Cleveland and provided him with a place still to follow his passion as a coach and player.
We look forward to seeing Coach Bryan on the field this summer with our USL 2 team!
Jamie Nagucki (formerly Jamie Daniels) is the glue that keeps things moving. Her ability to communicate, organize and hold us accountable to our commitments has transformed the U11-U12 HP department. We know Coach Everett does not make things easy, so this is very impressive. Coach Jamie will be stepping away from her role for a few months starting March 1st. We will have hard shoes to fill, and already looking forward to her return; she has not left yet.
From the club and me, we want to thank all those mentioned for all they do for the kids and the club! We are blessed to have all of you, and we look forward to seeing the players succeed because of your efforts. Your work is building the foundation of their future. The players are poised for success on and off the field due to your leadership and contributions.
Thank You!
Competitive Tier U13 to U19: Addition by subtraction
08/09/10 Boys North & 08/09/10 Boys South
From these two teams we subtracted twenty-two 2010 players to create the new 2010 Boys Black team and reveal our 2008/2009 team for the spring.
06/07 Boys East & 06/07 Boys West
From these two teams we subtracted twenty-five 2006 players to create the new 2006 Boys West and 2006 Boys East teams for the balance of the winter programming. With the new players joining us through the winter we will field these two 2006 teams for the spring.
Not to be forgotten, the subtraction of the 2006 players created a 2007 Boys team of fifteen players playing a standalone indoor schedule and the strong foundation for a spring team.
08/09/10 Girls
The player pool that frequently supplemented the roster numbers by using High Performance players is now in a position to boast of having twenty-four total players in preparation for the spring season.
We didn’t follow the “Addition by Subtraction” with this girls player pool for the winter and it may not happen in the Spring, but Fall 2023 is definitely our target ”JUST WATCH US GROW AGAIN”!!!
Our Player Pool rostering has allowed us to continue to work to find the correct classrooms for our players.
Our Winter II session has started off well, seeing a greater sense of parity within our U11 and U12 pools -- both boys and girls. We have also seen more players given the opportunity to train in the High Performance environment. It's always a great pleasure for us as coaches to see players come with the right mentality to be better than they were the day before.
Our open enrollment process continues to bring in new talent, and creating even greater roster depth to our ecosystem.
Our curriculum is slowly changing our focus to the possession side of the game, as we look to continue to create autonomous, creative players; focusing on their movement off the ball.
We have moved into our third session of our AOE supplemental training session, which has seen it's highest numbers to date!
I'd like to end with this quote I found on Twitter:
"Football is more than the level one plays or coaches at. You are worth so much more, you have inherent value beyond whether or not you play under bright lights in front of thousands. What matters is interacting with others, using space, and how you allow the game to breathe." - Mutanda Kwesele
Our mantra for a lot of our training has been, Play the Game, Not the Ball!
Within the Juniors Academy (ages 3-7), we are training between 500 and 700 players at any point in time. We accomplish this with an energetic staff of 24 talented coaches. Our coaches also work with our U9 and U10 program (25 current teams). This has created a consistency in the curriculum and path for the players, as well as a smooth transition from the Juniors Academy training to the club. There are currently 80 players that are thriving in the U9/10 CFSC club that "graduated" from the Juniors Academy training.
Within the Juniors Academy, we have different options. They include Instructional (beginner), Juniors Academy (intermediate) and the Juniors Elite program (pre-club). Within the programs we offer both training and league opportunities for each option. The Juniors Elite program is an invite only/ tryout required program. If interested, please contact me directly at:
As mentioned, many of the players "graduate" into the club. CFSC is recognized as a top program at these ages, with teams at the top of all of the leagues we participate in, consistent tournament success, and performance of teams in the high performance environment. The preparedness of players through participation in the Juniors Academy is evident.
If you are interested in participating in any of the programs please visit our Juniors Academy page for more info:
Check out this clip of CFSC Sporting Director, Everett Palache, on the expansion of Cleveland Force SC into the "South" region!
Juniors Academy South: Chris Mueller is excited for the expanded Juniors Academy here in the south. We are also looking forward to the camp programming to come.
2013 Girls White South: Coach Lauren Wilson shared a competitive, passionate game moment.
“During the winter we had an inter club match, south vs east team, and had a great competitive game. While competing, an athlete on the east team made a hard tackle knocking over a south player. The east player stopped and let out her hand to help the south player up, showing the competitive culture but proper sportsmanship of Force.”
2012 Girls Volt South: Coaching Staff Abby Richter, Ben Gunter and Jermaine Pickens are enjoying seeing the immense growth in the teams understanding of the game. They are using what is being worked on in practices and implemented it in games. Their training intensity and work rate continues to grow, showing true CHIRP values.
2012 Boys White South: This group has undergone some changes but has continued to grow as individuals. They performed well last fall and this winter in league play. We look forward to seeing this group continue to grow as young men and players.
2011 Girls Blue South: Coaches Lauren Wilson, Abby Richter, and Morgan Henderson have enjoyed watching the team step up their game and lead by example with their work ethic and endless work rate during games and training. Each practice and game, this team is seizing the opportunity to better their mentality and speed of play.
